Cutler Hammer
Cutler-Hammer is a renowned brand in the electrical and electronic control gear industry, with a rich history dating back to 1892 when it was founded by Harry H. Cutler and Edward West Hammer in Chicago. Initially known as the Chicago Electric and Manufacturing Company, it was later renamed Cutler-Hammer Manufacturing in 1892. The company quickly relocated to Milwaukee and became a leading business enterprise, known for its innovative products such as the first automatic motor starter in 1900. Over the years, Cutler-Hammer has played significant roles in various industrial and technological advancements, including supplying radar countermeasure units for B-1 bombers and building landing guidance systems for NASA's space shuttles. In 1978, the company became part of the Eaton Corporation, retaining its brand name and continuing to supply a wide range of electrical switching and control products, including circuit breakers, contactors, and motor starters.
